JoJo's Bizarre Adventure part 1: Phantom Blood

Jonathan Joestar is the protagonist of Phantom Blood and the first JoJo of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series.

Born the unique son of the wealthy businessman George Joestar I, Jonathan is an honest, kind and positive man whose life is fraught with tragedy after meeting his adopted older brother - and series antagonist - Dio Brando. In his battle against Dio, Jonathan becomes a Hamon user under the tutelage of the master Will Anthonio Zeppeli.

Dio Brando, known simply as DIO from Part 3 onwards, is the main antagonist of both Phantom Blood and Stardust Crusaders.

Originally a man of low birth but peerless ambition, Dio is a villain of little conscience, vast cunning, and an insatiable hunger for power. After becoming a vampire and later a Stand user, Dio has gathered around him many minions and is responsible for many major events of the series, from the death of Jonathan Joestar to the Joestar Family's sudden acquisition of Stand power, and his legacy persists throughout the series.

George Joestar is a minor character appearing in Phantom Blood and Jonathan Joestar's father. After a tragic misunderstanding, he adopts Dio Brando in his family, kickstarting the events of the series.

George is kind, though somewhat misguided. The most apparent example is when he mistakenly believes Dario Brando saved his life, though the latter was actually attempting to rob him of his possessions.

Will Anthonio Zeppeli is Jonathan Joestar's primary ally in Phantom Blood.

Zeppeli is a Hamon master hailing from Italy who searches the Stone Mask to destroy it. Hearing about Dio Brando, he thus becomes Jonathan's mentor and teaches him in the art of the Hamon as well as fights alongside him. As a master of the Hamon, Zeppeli is confident and brave, notably thinking that one's courage is proportional to the hardships one faces.

Danny is a minor character appearing in Phantom Blood. He resembles a large and lean Harlequin Great Dane. He is white and spotted with black.

Danny is Jonathan Joestar's dog and childhood best friend. His death at the hands of Dio Brando serves as one of the primary catalysts in the lifelong rivalry between Jonathan and Dio.

Robert E. O. Speedwagon is a major ally featured in Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Formerly a Londonian thug operating in Ogre Street, Speedwagon befriends Jonathan Joestar and, despite remaining a powerless human, becomes a loyal ally to the Joestar Family during his whole life and beyond thanks to the company he's founded: the Speedwagon Foundation.

Erina Pendleton is a side character and ally appearing in Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. Erina is a fair-headed young girl, who keeps her hair in a ponytail and is described as pretty.

Erina is a young girl from Jonathan Joestar's hometown, becoming his love interest then wife. She is the mother to George Joestar II, and the grandmother and guardian to Joseph Joestar.

Dario Brando is a minor character in Phantom Blood. He is portrayed as a corrupt, alcoholic, and abusive father.

Dario is the father of Dio Brando. An alcoholic and abusive man, he is primarily responsible for contributing to Dio's descent into evil. After a tragic misunderstanding, George Joestar I decides to give him a favor and adopts his son Dio into the Joestar Family.
